Hyperstition (2015)
What a brutal watch. I hated these type of people on twitter and when you see there faces and watch them talk it’s an extra level of uncomfort and disdain. When it showed someone talking in a group you could tell it was them trying to prove they were smart and everyone else just waiting to prove they’re not quite right. No one seemed to be listening
Word salad after word salad. Maybe they’re on to something but it’s pure self fulfilling, obviously, I guess thats the fun of “hyperstition”. I could splice in the schizophrenics I see building hover boards on my instagram reels and you wouldn’t know the difference.
I don’t even think they color graded any of the footage. I love how they’d pop up words in bright red like “recursion” and “abduction”. really drove home the fact that I was watching a bunch of elder middle schoolers taking shrooms for the first time. I do wonder how much of this was filmed during an active trip.
Really gross stuff especially because there is unimaginable amounts of money driven by people who think like this and you have high level politicians listening to these people.
